Management Theory And Building A Network Marketing Business

Building a Network Marketing Business is not so much about managing people as it is about leading others. You can manage from a very selfish vantage point but to maintain longer term leadership demands the ability to be others oriented. It means you do what is best for the people.

It has been noted that "the extent to which you are able to transform your self-concern into other-concern will determine your effectiveness in getting others to follow along." Often the role of the leader is to get out of the way.

However, looking at some management theory may give insight into better ways to motivate, empower, and lead others in you network marketing business. One such management theory is Herzberg's Motivation-Hygiene Theory.

What Is It?

It a nutshell it defines satisfaction and dissatisfaction as disparate descriptors. It states that the opposite of satisfaction is not dissatisfaction. The opposite of satisfaction is lack of satisfaction. The same pattern holds true for dissatisfaction. While at first this may sound like the theory plays with words, don't give up yet. I'll explain. It has to do with the way we perceive our needs being met.

It has to do with the source or causes of the feeling our needs are met or not. Factors which my cause you to be dissatisfied are what Herzberg calls "hygiene issues". What causes you to be satisfied are called "motivators"? These can be illustrated as follows:

Hygiene issues are things like: pay; company policies, relationships with bosses, work conditions; relationships with peers; etc. Motivators could include factors such as: liking the work; recognition; challenge; achievement; opportunity for advancement; and relationship with peers.

Notice that I included relationship with peers in both categories. If you have a negative relationship with your peers at work, it may be a source of dissatisfaction or a hygiene issue.

However, if you have a great relationship with your peers, it may be a great motivator since all of us have an innate need for community. Negative relationships often mean that we feel outside of their community or that no community exists.

How Does This Relate To Network Marketing?

How does this relate to network marketing? In network marketing you may be looking to replace your employment with something more entrepreneurial, which is a business of your own. You will do that through building a community of others that you will lead. Herzberg theory can be modified to assess your own issues within the business and those of the community you build.

For example, many people are in situations where they love their work, they feel a high sense of achievement, and are highly motivated. And yet, the pay may be low, they may not like the policies under which they work or some other factor. For example, a missionary doing social work in a third world country might feel that way. Highly satisfied and yet dissatisfied at the same time.

The same can be true with the people you lead in your network marketing business. They may not like the pricing structure, they may not like negative comments that sometimes occur, or may get discouraged when others quit the business. Leaders need to do the best they can to take care of these hygiene issues. Often this requires training and information.

In the network marketing business, motivators are important because remuneration is based upon personal achievement. In the early days remuneration can be a source of dissatisfaction. The same is true for realtors, insurance agents, and others involved in sales. However, that doesn't mean that your network will not have a great sense of satisfaction.

How Do You Apply This Theory?

Effective networking organizations will train their people how to develop themselves (achievement), be mentored (peer relationships), and learn of opportunity for advancement. All of these can serve to help the community you build to feel a high degree of satisfaction.

However be warned. As high as the satisfaction (motivator) levels may be, if the hygiene factors are not taken care of, they can often cause erosion of the motivators to the degree that the motivators are not strong enough to keep the person in the community. It is important to keep a good balance between the two.

Remember that as the leader, you still have limited abilities. You cannot make people do anything. The people in your business are building independent businesses. If they won't learn methodology and then apply it to be personally successful in the areas that can lead to dissatisfaction, you cannot make them. You can only create the environment for them to succeed.

You need to provide the training and environment to deal with both hygiene issues and motivators. If you deal with hygiene issues only, your community will be unmotivated and drift away. If all you do is motivate but don't help them with the hygiene factors, they will eventually see the motivation as hype.

Make plans to encompass both sets of factors. You can start by analyzing your present training, mentoring time, and meetings. Look at which factors you need to work on. Sometimes you have to polish the dull side to see the bright side. Keep the balance. You will be a better leader if you do.

Do You Have What It Takes To Be A Top Network Marketer?

You love the idea of a network marketing business and have a burning desire to become successful. In the past you have joined some programs, but only to be disappointed with poor results and dismal failure.

As each day go by you wonder to yourself, "Do I really have what it takes to be a top network marketer?"

You keep searching and praying that you will finally find the perfect multi-level marketing opportunity that will catapult you into the space occupied by top network marketers who make millions online with crazy downlines that grow by the hundreds each day.

Before you call it quits you need to really understand what it takes that these top network marketers have and you don't. It's not that they are any smarter or luckier then you.

You have to really understand why you are not making any money in this business and change any attitudes or beliefs that you may have before you start to see any success.

Many of these MLM superstars started out with nothing just like you and failed many times before they learned what they were doing wrong. You have to learn to undo bad habits and change your behavior before you move on.

It is very likely that every time a new opportunity comes around, you usually wind up repeating the same mistakes again and again.

Setting Realistic Expectations

When you first join a company, you have to be realistic about your earnings and how long it will take you to start seeing any significant money. Just because a company has a great compensation plan with spillover does not mean it is going to build on its own without your effort.

If you are really serious about testing out an opportunity to see if it is going to work, you have to give it at least six months before you make the decision to quit and move on. There is no way that in two weeks or a month you are going to be retired and building income on autopilot.

Some people are able to start seeing money come in quickly, but that is because they already have a large database of subscribers already that know and trust them and will move around with them.

If you are just starting out and have no list, it is going to take a little work before you start seeing any results and team growth.

You have to work on marketing yourself first and not the company. Build a list for yourself and not the company and you will be rewarded in the future. After you build a large mailing list you will be able to join other companies and get people to sign under you right away as long as you have provided them lots of value through the years.

Dealing With Setbacks

Sometimes people get discouraged because they work really hard to get a couple of signups only to have them dropout for whatever reason. You have to understand that these people made their decision from the start and would have not done any good for your team.

It's better to focus all of your efforts on the distributors who are willing to learn and eventually grow your downline. Don't waste your time trying to teach duplication to people who are not going to take action.

I would rather have a small team of twenty people doing 90% of the work then ninety people doing 20% of the work.

You can leverage your income much better with a smaller and more dedicated team.

No matter what you are always going to need to keep recruiting and never stop no matter how big your team grows. You should always be working to top yourself each time and keep your team flowing with new and motivated members.

If you get twenty signups and they all dropped out then you have to tell yourself that I am going to out and get forty this time. If forty drop out, go and get sixty. Keep up this pace and your team will never die out and it will be only a matter of time before you find the right people with the right attitude.

Expanding Your Empire

People who become top network marketers are always on top of there game and know exactly what works for them. You have to learn how to make good use of your time and money by always tracking and testing your marketing campaigns.

Many people make the same mistake of always resorting to the same marketing techniques or methods and usually get the same results. If you do the same thing twice and nothing changes, the odds are you will not see anything different the third time.

You also have to learn how to market yourself and not the opportunity you are involved in. Instead of promoting your companies website, you should have your own blog or website with your own newsletter that captures subscribers and delivers them to your opportunity .

If you would just start working towards making these small changes today, there is no doubt that with patience and persistence, you will become a top network marketer.

6 Benefits To Starting An Internet Business

Starting an internet business is one of the most rewarding things you can do in your life. There is no denying the fact that millions of people are jumping on the opportunity of a lifetime to work from home. Here are 6 benefits you too can enjoy by starting an internet business.

1. Work for yourself

There is no greater feeling than being able to say that you work for yourself. No longer you have to deal with a boss who is constantly nagging you to meet certain deadlines. You can take your business in whatever direction you choose to while going at your own pace. And you can do so from the comfort of your very own home.

2. Create your own schedule

By having an internet business you can work whenever you would like. The internet never closes giving you the opportunity to work any time 24/7. Finally you can make it to your son's basketball games and your daughter's dance recitals without missing them because of work. You can plot out your schedule and change it whenever you choose to.

3. Work wherever you want

Not only can you create your own schedule, but you can work wherever you want. There is nothing stopping you from picking up your things and moving to Hawaii today if you want. It also makes it convenient to take extra long vacations assuming the place you stay has internet connection. You can bring your work along with you and stay an extra week or so.

4. Do what you want

The internet is full of opportunities to choose from allowing you to do what you have always wanted to. As long as there is public appeal you can start a business for it. No longer you have to wake up dreading to go to work. Who ever said work could not be fun?

5. Multiple tasks

Having an internet business gives you the ability to take on multiple tasks all at once. The reason this is a benefit is because you will never get bored doing the same task day in and day out. You get to be the boss, writer, marketer, and customer service all at once. While it may seem a bit overwhelming, it is manageable and exciting.

6. Rewarding

When it is all said and done there is nothing quite as rewarding as having your own business that you created. Knowing that all of the income you have coming in was created because of you is a great feeling. While it does require a lot of hard work and dedication, it is well worth it in the end.

6 Downfalls To Avoid When Starting A Home Based Business

Starting a home based business can be overwhelming and intimidating. Whether you have experience in internet marketing or not you are bound to make mistakes along the ride. However, there are some things you can do to make the journey as smooth as possible. Here are 6 things to avoid when starting a home business.

1. Poor time management

One of the most difficult things people have with running their own business is time management. The internet offers a tremendous amount of freedom which can have its consequences. It is up to you to properly use your time and put in the effort needed to have success. The internet never sleeps giving you 24 hours a day 7 days a week to stay ahead of the competition.

2. Passivity

Many people do not realize the importance of being outgoing on the internet. Just because you cannot see people and many times never speak to people, it is vital that you are social on the internet. This means talking in forums, posting in blogs and getting your name and business known.

3. Not knowing your market

Guess what? If you are knowledgeable on your niche, you still have to research your market. Every day things are expanding and new things are coming up on the internet. In order to run a successful home based business you want to know anything and everything going on within your niche. Therefore, you want to constantly be researching the market.

4. Postponing your business debut

There seems to be a pattern of internet marketer postponing their home business debut on the internet. There is no point in delaying your marketing efforts because this is only taking away from potential sells you could be making. Your web site will never be completely done. Therefore, start marketing your web site as soon as you have a domain name and hosting.

5. Customer service

Aside from marketing, customer service is perhaps the most important piece to a home business. You want to make sure to give every person the time of day to show you care about their needs. Without customer service you are just another internet marketer that only cares about money. By going above and beyond you will be amazed at how many customers you receive.

6. Asking for help

Just because it is your home based business does not mean you cannot ask for help. Everyone needs help now and then so do not stress yourself out by overworking. Ask for help and get advice from anybody that is willing to give it.

When Is a Network Marketing Opportunity the Wrong Choice?

Network marketing is a very popular way to start a home business. You get to represent great products that you really enjoy, and build up a nice income. You can even help people you know get started themselves.

But for a lot of people it's the wrong choice... at least until they've really thought about why they want to join the opportunity.

1. You think it's an easy road to riches.

Just as with any other business, more people fail in network marketing than succeed. Those who succeed work hard on their business and take it seriously.

It also takes time. Those who are really good at it can build up a fair income within a year, but most take longer.

2. You think the only way to build a downline is to pester everyone you know.

That's the old way to build a downline. There are all kinds of options that don't involve alienating those you care about.

3. You're considering options only on what you think will bring in the most money.

Money's great, but your enthusiasm for the product is what will help you to make sales. Also, if you choose a product line you feel awkward or uncomfortable selling, you won't impress potential customers.

There's a big reason that people talk about passion in the network marketing industry. Passion is what helps to drive you when things are tough. It's what impresses your customers with the quality of your products.

Some people can cope with just their passion to earn money, but it's much better to be passionate about the product as well.

4. You don't want to sell or market.

Some opportunities trumpet the lack of needing to sell their products. But what you still have to do is market them, which is really an aspect of selling. There are many ways you can promote your business, from the standbys of handing out business cards, carrying samples and telling everyone you meet about your business, to online marketing through websites.

The great part about network marketing opportunities today is that you can promote some of them 100% online. If the home party scene really isn't your thing, you can try an opportunity that lets you develop your own website to get sales and build your downline.

5. You've hopped from opportunity to opportunity.

Many people spend so much time hoping for success in network marketing that they don't give the opportunities they join the time to work out. If they don't get instant success, off they go to the next opportunity!

If you're still in that frame of mind that the next opportunity will be the big one, it's time to slow down and review your expectations. You can't assume that you will have instant success, or even success in 6 months. Giving up one opportunity and joining another means you keep having to start over. It's not a way to succeed.

Being in the right frame of mind is one of the key steps to succeeding in direct sales. Expectations that are too high, fear of committing to an opportunity and other problems can make it harder for you to build a solid business.

5 Success Tips for Your MLM Business

Success in MLM doesn't involve secrets. It involves persistence; a dedicated plan of action; and a few unwavering commitments, no matter what.
Here are those 5 commitments and success tips.

Success Tip # 1 - Change Your Thinking

Always maintain a positive attitude.

Many years ago, a large American shoe manufacturer sent two sales reps out to different parts of the Australian outback to see if they could drum up some business among the aborigines. Some time later, the company received telegrams from both agents. The first one said - "No business here. Natives don't wear shoes." The second one said - "Great opportunity here - the natives don't wear shoes."

How do you "see" things in your life and your business? Are you prone to see the glass half full or half empty? Do you see opportunity with someone who already uses a different brand of your product or do you assume there is no place for your tremendous product?

Your thinking has determined everything about where you are RIGHT NOW! As you look around, it is your beliefs and attitude that are reflected in the environment around you.

Here's the GREAT news - if you are happy with where you are, you can continue to enjoy where you are and what you have. Continue focusing on the positive.

If you are not happy with where you are and what you have, you can change it. It's as simple as changing your thoughts. And, you CAN change your thoughts. Go on, give it a try. Try it for 21 days and watch what happens!

Success Tip # 2 - Get Back Up

It's not whether you get knocked down. It's whether you get back up.

So, you talk to 6 people and none of them are interested in your products or your business. So what? Do those 6 people hold the keys to your future? Do those 6 people make your house payment, feed your kids, or care a lot about what you think of them?

Some will and some won't in this business. You are only looking for the "some who will." They are out there. You are living proof that they are. After, all, you became a "some will" right?

Refuse to accept the notion of rejection in this business. It simply does not exist. No one is rejecting you. They are simply not interested in what you are offering at this time. Have you ever turned down a refill on a cup of coffee at a restaurant? Did the waiter run away crying and screaming because you rejected him? Nope, he said " next" and moved to the next table. You can do the same.

Believe in your product and share that excitement. Insulate yourself from any one else's opinion by your own belief.

Then, pick yourself back up and keep searching for gold.

I believe in you. Believe in you, too!

Success Tip # 3 - Four Great Reasons to Build It

1. Network Marketing is a tremendous opportunity to create all kinds of things that you want in your life. You can create fun and creativity. You can create financial independence. You can create confidence and great people skills. Nearly 20 million Americans are doing some type of entrepreneurial enterprise from their home. And, this number is expected to increase dramatically. Be a part of that and find others and bring them into the fold.

2. Anyone (and especially women) can set their own hours , be flexible in their schedules as they balance many things, develop a stable, solid, permanent income and develop some long lasting friendships!

3. There is NO gender gap or glass ceilings in Network Marketing. ANYONE can reach the top, regardless of background, education, etc. Have your PhD? Great, you can shoot straight to the top in Network Marketing. Have your GED? Great, you can shoot straight to the top in Network Marketing.

4. You don't need a HUGE capital investment to begin your business. Grants and small business loans are even available for women and others! You just need a great attitude that you can succeed and a BIG desire to do it!

So, WHY NOT YOU AND WHY NOT NOW?

Success Tip #4 - Improving Your Game

The best investment you can make in your business is to constantly improve on you.

Are you improving every day? Do you wake up feeling alive, and ready to go in your business? Are you committed to your dreams? Do you HAVE dreams?

Work on being focused and fired up about your business EVERY day of each year. Blow by obstacles and don't let them hinder you or slow you down. Get clear on your goals and even clearer on your INTENTIONS in your business. Set intentions each and every day.

Are you going for greatness?

Stop and ask yourself - Could I make one more call to one more prospect? Could I send one more email? Could I book one more party, set up one more fundraiser, recognize one more team member, etc.? Could I pass out more flyers, hand out more samples?

Life and your business is an experiment. And, you really can't fail unless you quit or do nothing.

Each experiment will lead you closer to your goal and the greatness you aspire to.

You must know what an incredible opportunity you have with your Network Marketing business. You MUST!

Big things are right around the corner - are you planning to be the top achiever in your company, are you going to be committed 100%? How great can you be if you are anything less than 100% committed?

How committed would you be if you KNEW you could get everything in life you want? How many calls would you make, or samples would you hand out?

Commit to yourself and your dreams TODAY!

Success Tip #5 - Under promise and Over-deliver

Ever been over hyped in a business? Promised the moon and only delivered the launch pad? Who hasn't? Set out to be different in your business.

Start by NEVER making any income claims. Don't even share your own income with others. Why? Well, it just doesn't matter. Whether you are making one or one million dollars, this has nothing to do with your team partner's ability to make an income.

Only offer up what you can deliver upon.

That really comes down to your partnership.

What are you offering to those who join you in your business?

What support do you make available?

What tools?

What sets you apart from the 42 other people they found on the Google search for your business?

Be very clear on what you offer in partnership, put it into writing and make sure you deliver on it.

Have some things that you don't offer, yet deliver. How many people in Network Marketing can actually say that their sponsor offered MORE in support and training than they promised?

Take the higher road and watch your business soar.

There has never been a better time to have a home business than now. I say that to myself EVERY single day and have for over ten years. Every day, I am right. You have what it takes, now go make it happen!

What I Learned About Sales From My 9 Year Old

Sometimes you can learn amazing things from watching kids.

Since my son was three years old I have been generating income from the internet. He as heard me talking about making money, building web sites, and building a business.

What has happened is that he has turned into the smallest entrepreneur I have ever seen.

For example, he has started a small business in our cul-de-sac. Once a week he goes to 5 houses and picks up all the brown piles their dog(s) have left during the week - he picks up dog poop in their backyards. He pulls down $4 per house, so about $20 per week for a couple hours of work. He loves it and the neighbors are happy to pay!

But that is not really the focus of this story. You see a while back we had a garage sale in our neighborhood. This thing is massive - people come from all over to attend this neighborhood sale. Well, we had some junk to get rid of, so we had a sale as well.

He decided that he was going to sell water bottle (ice cold!) and donate the proceeds to some local victims of a huge tornado. So he made up a sign and filled the cooler with ice and bottled water.

He was in our driveway all day. Mostly sitting behind the cooler and sign in his lawn chair. He was making sales. Then one time, he got up and met someone in the driveway and said "Would you like to buy a bottle of water for fifty cents? I am donating all the money to the tornado victims."

Guess what? The guy bought two bottles!

Emboldened by his success he started doing this every time someone walked up to our driveway. His sales skyrocketed!

In 12 hours of total selling he made $49 and sold 90 bottles of water.

I started thinking about this powerful lesson and how I could apply it to my network marketing business.

Do you see the one simple thing he did that changed the outcome of his business?

He opened his mouth and told people what he was doing. He did not rely on his sign or advertising to generate the sale. He simply told people what he was selling and asked them if they wanted to buy.

I can think of a many occasions where if I had simply opened my mouth and shared what I was doing in my business, or told someone about the product, I could have made the sale.

Wanna see a change in your business? Just open your mouth and start talking, and be sure to ask for the sale!

What Generation Y Can Teach Us About MLM

Generation Y. They have lots of labels. And many of them are anti-label, so be careful how you use them. The Millennials . The Echo Boom. The Mega Generation.

Whatever name you choose to call them, get ready because they are sharp. They are re-defining the "rules" and are going to find their place on their own terms. They communicate well and have a short attention span (not necessarily a bad thing). Smart companies are clamoring to figure out how to market to them. And, they are looking for something off the beaten path.

As a parent, you might be shaking your head. As a business person, you should be learning all you can about this group. Educate yourself and you'll stop shaking your head once you begin to understand this talented group who are everybody's future.

They are

- More afraid of being stuck at a desk for 45 years than taking the "risk" on a business of their own. In fact, they are being hailed as the most entrepreneurial generation yet

- Well connected to their high school and college friends. They are great communicators and use technology to deliver their message to the masses in seconds

- Not afraid of technology and, in fact, require it. They much prefer text messaging over email.

- Are socially conscious and responsible; show them more than the money; show them a cause and a way to make a difference

- Interested in self development; mentoring and love diversity

- Spontaneous and quick decision makers. Don't make a plan with them for next month; send them a text a few hours before and event and they'll show up

- Aware that we live in uncertain times and they aren't waiting around for next year; next week or anything. Show them results now!

Where have they been all of my life?

And, what can we, as network marketers, learn from this hip, trendy, "right now" group that is poised to join our ranks in droves? More than you might imagine so sit down; listen up and let yourself be schooled on a few things that can transform your business.

Gen Y, and specifically the current age group from 18-30 are calling their own shots and moving to their own beat. They resist many of the "old school" notions that their parents grew up with such as "Go to college; Get a job; Work hard; retire in 45 years and then start living!" As a parent, this may be hard for you to accept, but let's face it. This concept is not working especially well for the masses.

Gen Y is looking for more. That doesn't mean that they don't or won't go to college, but corporate America holds no interest for a large majority of this group. They watched the Enron/WorldCom and other corporate scandals. They have lived through their parent's downsizing; layoffs and constant stress around a job and money.

Why settle for this when, for a very low investment and a little technical knowledge about the Internet, one can start a virtual business that operates worldwide 24/7? No boss, no alarm clock, no suits. Oh, tattoos, flip-flops and a little body piercing aren't going to ruffle any feathers!

They are looking for more than a paycheck. They aren't afraid of working, but why shouldn't work be fun? And why shouldn't their friends be part of it? And what is the point of an office, anyway? Why not work from anywhere?

The large majority of Gen Y is still in touch with their high school and college friends thanks to social networks online such as FaceBook and MySpace. Text messaging helps as well.

They can spread the word about any new venture they might find fun, appealing and profitable in a matter of minutes. When was the last time that happened in your network marketing business?

Gen Y considers technology their third arm. This means that the local Starbuck's can actually be superior than a home office or a cubicle somewhere. With internet access and a MySpace page, they are open for business. We could all benefit from the portable office concept. After all, how many times have you been interrupted by well meaning friends and family members who think that because you work from home, you are accessible at any hour?

I personally utilize my Starbucks office at least twice a week for serious focus time and to get away from email; laundry; the phone and doorbell. Give it a try and see if you don't get a lot more accomplished.

Because they are such a socially conscious and responsible generation, be prepared to show more than just the money. They demand eco-friendly products; companies with a mission and something that creates fun and lifestyle. Show them something simple; something to get passionate about; something fun that will create an income that allows them to enjoy life now and not wait for retirement. Then, get out of the way.

Spend some time learning what the values are of Gen Y and why these things matter to them. Understand their values, then link your opportunity to their values and you have a home run.

Gen Y has been a very experimental group and love diversity. Where generations before them stuck to the mainstream and didn't want to be "different", this generation is about being unique and accepting others at face value without worrying about everyone being little clones. They are very individual and aren't interested in "duplicable systems" as much as they want proven principles. Being "indie" is widely accepted and valued.

So, what does this mean for you and your network marketing business?

If the Fortune 500 companies are paying attention, you should be, too.

One or two Gen Y leaders in your business might change your business attitude as well. Let me explain.

First of all, they are smart and creative. Give them the business basics and then turn them loose to build their own network. Don't even think about the Tuesday night local meeting. Ain't gonna happen.

Don't overload them with emails (which they rarely check) and don't try to conform them into traditional network marketing concepts such as "make a list." They have a list and it resides at social networking sites like MySpace, FaceBook or Ojeez and they already know how to approach that list.

Don't worry if they don't need you for 3 way calls; showing the plan; or motivating their group. It's nothing personal. They have it wired already.

Where are you going to find this target market? Well, not on your list, most likely; nor through ads or mall walking. Your best bet is to tap into the power of technology and get yourself a MySpace profile and begin to network. Don't go in blasting your opportunity, but instead take a sincere interest in building relationships and getting to know this intriguing group.

They know how to check you out and check your business out as well. Most likely, they'll let you know that they have an interest. Keep is simple and say very little. They will find what they need to know online and might even sign up without so much as an email or phone conversation.

Relax, have some fun and "Chillax." Embrace this new way of having fun and building a business. This could be the best thing that ever happened to you, your business and Network Marketing as a whole.

I don't know about you, but I'm off to meet some new friends on MySpace. I hope to see you there. This is one trend you don't want to miss.

The Importance of Having a Dream

When I was much younger and didn't know how the world works, I had several dreams. Looking back, it seems like I dreamt more than I actually lived life. When I grew up I would be an astronaut, a professional boxer, and a rock star all at the same time. Realistic? Not very. Still, as a kid, I knew how to dream, and dream big.

Unfortunately, life has a way of knocking us around sometimes, and we start to view our dreams as foolish wishes. Some of us stop dreaming altogether. We just accept whatever comes our way. Our lives become gray. We adopt the attitudes of those around us as our own, and forget about the child inside, screaming to get out. We call it growing up.

Most Network Marketers, however, haven't forgotten the value of dreaming. You can hear it in their voices, feel it in their smiles. They know their dreams have value, and are not just wasted time dwelling on foolish thoughts. Their dreams are the beginning of something awesome.

Dreams present us with the overall picture of how we want our lives to be. They know no bounds. They are vague and unfocused, and because of this they override the critical factor in us that acts as a censor. You can dream about traveling to Mars, or having a love affair with a movie star. In dreams, nothing is impossible.

Dreaming springs out of that vast, inner reservoir we call the subconscious mind. Your subconscious doesn't know the difference between what's real and what's imagined. As far as my subconscious mind knows, I've been a member of Led Zeppelin, have flown aboard the space shuttle many times, and was married to Julia Roberts.

Emotions also live in the subconscious mind. Think about it; how often do we choose to laugh or cry? Sometimes, in fact, it's difficult to stop doing these with all our conscious effort. If we close our eyes and think about something funny, chances are a smile will appear. We may even laugh out loud.

As a clinical hypnotherapist, I work with the subconscious mind all the time. I've regressed grown men back to where they were eight years old, and crying like a baby. I've seen entranced people shiver with cold on a ninety degree day. I'm thoroughly convinced of the power of the subconscious mind.

Emotions and dreams relate to one another in a big way. Emotion, in fact, fuels the dream. If you didn't "want it so bad you could taste it," what would be the point of the dream in the first place? If you didn't believe that realizing the dream would "feel" so good, why bother?

As important as dreaming is, however, we must keep in mind that it is only the beginning, albeit a necessary one. In its vagueness, it lacks any cohesion. Without focus, it's powerless to bring about any kind of lasting change in your life. For that, it needs to be molded and shaped.

Molding your dream requires input from your logical mind. This is where your dream gets broken down into manageable chunks. Want to be an astronaut? First, you work hard to get good grades in school, take the right courses, etc. Then go to college, majoring in math and science. Join the Air Force, follow the curriculum, and you're on your way.

You can see how this morphs from being a dream, and into something else. We call these goals. Goals can only be reached after they are set. They can only be set after a dream has been conceived.

If the dream does not grow into something else, it eventually dies. My own dream of rock stardom died because I wasn't willing to do what was necessary to make it a reality. I did a lot of talking and thinking about it, but it could not survive with a base of practicality.

How do you discover what your dream truly is? Ask yourself this question: If money and time were not issues, how would my life be different? How would I spend my day? Where would I live? Who would I be with?

Dreaming is the seed. It's not difficult, and you probably did it a lot when you were a kid. It doesn't take much thought, only emotion, and a letting go of perceived limitations. It does, however, take much nurturing and attention to bring it to fruition, and to see it as reality.

New School Network Marketing - The Death of Network Marketing

Have you read the report "Death of Network Marketing"? No? Well, it doesn't matter because I can briefly tell you what the report is about. It is about the new way that network marketing should be conducted, using the power of the internet. There are several terms for this new school network marketing. Some call it internet network marketing, some call it internet MLM. In this article, I shall address one question that will help you know more about the power of new school network marketing.

1) I have heard experts saying that you can automate your lead generation and follow up
using new school network marketing. Is it true?

I am not sure if you have been involved in offline MLM before. Generally, for a traditional offline MLM, there is a lot of work involved.

Let's talk about the first step of collecting leads. One common way to do so is to speak to your friends, family, relatives or anyone you know personally. This is a very tedious process that has to be done manually. You have to approach them one by one.

The drawback of this method is that out of around 100 people you approached, perhaps only 1 or 2 of them are interested. The reason why this can occur is because the prospects you are approaching are not targeted. Most of them have no interest to be involved in any business opportunities and they may even be skeptical about network marketing.

However, let's consider that we are using the internet to generate leads. If you have been using the internet for a certain period of time, you will know that most people use the internet to search for information. They will usually use the search engine like Google or Yahoo to search for what they want to know.

If someone is interested is interested in any business opportunities, they will usually type in terms like "how to make money", "how to become rich", "mlm opportunities" etc. Knowing this, we can easily position ourselves before them and try to capture their email address.

One way you can do that is to create Google Adwords campaign. All you have to do is to set up the campaign once and it will do the work for you. Of course, you will have to monitor the result of your campaign from time to time. However, by using this method, you no longer have to collect leads one by one. Furthermore, the leads that are collected are of a higher quality.

In traditional MLM, you have to call up your prospect manually. Again, you have to do it one to one. You have to give the same presentation again and again. However, with new school network marketing, the follow up process can be automated. What you need is an auto responder.

Perhaps you do not know what is an autoresponder. Let me just give you a very simple example. Have you ever sent an email to your friend and you receive this reply, "Out of Office Notification". Since your friend was not in the office, how could he reply you. Well, he used an autoresponder to do that. What an autoresponder can do is to follow up with your prospect automatically through several emails. All you need to do is to setup the autoresponder once.

The advantage of this method is that you have lots of time to follow up with your prospect and educate them about your product and you can do it in a non threatening manner. In the offline world, you will only have a short period of time to convince your prospect or they will be gone forever.

Is Cash Gifting Really as Easy as You Hear?

Everywhere you turn today, you hear people talking about the simplicity and effectiveness of cash gifting. Are the rumors true? Can you truly generate loads of passive wealth from cash gifting programs? The answer is yes, but there are a few considerations. Let's take a look:

- You need to first understand what it is. It's easy! You give a gift of cash. You promote the offer to other like-minded individuals, and then you receive gifts of cash in return.

- Anyone can do this, but it isn't something that is effortless. You still have the issue of promotion to consider. Even if you are giving away free chunks of gold, nobody will take it if they do not know about it, right? You have to get the word out. Getting the word out implies marketing. That's the bottom line with everything online or off.

- Anyone can learn effective marketing techniques. They exist and they are able to be assimilated. You just have to be diligent and purposeful. It is known that over 98% of all online marketing attempts fail. It has nothing to do with what is being promoted. It has everything to do with promotional techniques. People are erroneous to believe that just any old method of online promotion will do. The hard truth is quite to the contrary.

- Cash gifting is definitely less difficult than other promotional efforts though. This is because you are promoting exactly what everyone wants for sure: CASH! There is nothing easier to promote because the value of the product is thoroughly understood and desired by the general public already. You do not have to convince anyone of the potential uses or benefits to having more cash.

- Every other type of Internet marketing program revolves around trying to sell others a product or products that they have no interest in or use for. They buy these products only in hopes to generate cash for themselves. With cash gifting, we can eliminate the nonsense and get down to what we all are really after. That's right: CASH!

Take the next step in developing your dreams. Explore the realm of cash gifting further today. You will learn why the Internet communities and private communities are all excitedly talking about it. You give to those in need. You promote what everyone truly desires. People come to you to learn of the vast potential. In return, you receive gifts of pure, sweet cash. Yes, it is legitimate. Yes, it is proven. Yes, it takes some work. Yes, it can be for you!

Is This MLM Business Opportunity An Illegal Pyramid Scheme?

Sorting through the myriad of multilevel marketing opportunities can be difficult. Some are legitimate business opportunities offering great products at great prices. Unfortunately others are questionable, perhaps borderline illegal. In the past, many multilevel business opportunities were little more than pyramid schemes. These illegal programs counted on recruiting others into the system without offering any real product or service. These pyramid schemes eventually came to the attention of law enforcement. Unfortunately unsuspecting people lost millions of dollars before these schemes were shut down. Today it is illegal to operate a pyramid scheme. The issue however, is how to determine whether the business opportunity that you are considering is too good to be true.

In response to scrutiny by law enforcement, many variations of the multilevel marketing plans have been created to disguise the fact that they are only slightly better than an illegal pyramid scheme. Fortunately, there are several indicators of whether a multilevel business opportunity is legitimate. Consider these five questions when determining whether a multilevel business opportunity is legitimate:

1. Are there real products, or services, at reasonable prices?

Many companies offer product sales in an attempt to appear legitimate. Often times these products are either not something that anyone would want or not reasonably priced. If distributors are required to purchase the product in order to be eligible for sales commissions, the opportunity is probably borderline legitimate. If distributors are required to recruit new distributors before being eligible to earn commission, it is questionable. If the only people purchasing the product are new distributors, the opportunity seems highly suspect.

2. Do you have sufficient information to make an informed decision?

Any literature promoting the multilevel business opportunity should contain enough information about the product to allow a reasonable person to make an informed decision. Information to assess the potential for sales of the product should be included. Is the income potential of the business opportunity realistic or does it seem too good to be true? Is the entire pitch focused on how much money a distributor can make? Be wary when you see pictures of sales people in front of fancy cars and mansions. Legitimate businesses are built on their products and services, not their marketing prowess.

3. Is training about the product or service provided?

If the product isn't the main focus of the information you should wonder why. Factors like marketability, competition, and price should be discussed. When looking at a product consider whether you would be interested in buying the product. Does the price seem appropriate, based upon what you know of the product. If you wouldn't want the product, what makes you think that someone else would?

4. Are resources available to help you make sales?

The focus of the company should be on selling their products. To that end, the company should arm their distributors with tools to effectively make sales. If these resources aren't available, you should wonder why.

5. Is recruitment of affiliates or distributors an option or is it required?

Recruiting distributors or affiliates to work under you is common in multilevel organizations, however, it should not be required. If you are required to recruit distributors prior to earning commissions, you should wonder if this is the only way that the company can sell their product. Any company that demands a certain number of recruits before paying commission on your sales seems suspect.

Regardless of whether you use these five questions when evaluating multilevel business opportunities, you need to be careful. If an opportunity seems too good to be true it probably is.

What Your Prospect Really Wants (Hint: It's Not Listening to You Ramble On)

When I first got into Network Marketing a little more than ten years ago, I wasn't really sure what to expect. I knew what I wanted from a business, and my upline told me I wouldn't be disappointed.

Unfortunately, after I paid my money, I never saw them again. Left to my own limited devices, I soon quit.

I still know what I want in a business, and I don't think I'm alone. In fact, I believe most people want about the same thing.

People want a business that's simple. They don't have the time or desire to learn a complex system that may or may not make money. They don't want their upline telling them they need to go to monthly pep rallies to be successful, or to be brainwashed into believing that the company's products will save the planet.

They want to know that this is something they can do and teach others to do. Most don't have sales backgrounds, and resent telemarketers calling and trying to sell them something. How is your business different? Can you teach others how not to feel like a telemarketer? Is it possible to do this business and maintain integrity?

Secondly, people want a business that's fun. Most spend eight hours a day working a regular job. The last thing they want when the get home is to do something they don't enjoy. Knowing myself, I know I won't stick to something if I see it as a chore. There are many other options I have when I get off work. I could hang out with friends, read a book, or watch TV. Why would a prospect choose to do your business instead?

Fran Tarkenton said, "If it ain't fun, you're not doing it right." If you're not having fun with your business, others will know. They can also tell if you are having fun, and will want a piece of what you've got. You cannot fake genuine fun.

My Network Marketing coach, for example, sounds like one of the most fun guys on the planet. It's a joy to speak with him, and I'm sure he'd be a blast to hang out with. He exudes an energy that attracts people. Nobody would question that he loves what he's doing. Anybody would want to be like that.

If you don't enjoy your business, how will you convince others to join you? Will you lie and tell them how wonderful this business is, when you have to force yourself to do it? If working your business is anything but fun, then it's time to look at how you're doing it and make some changes.

This might be obvious, but people want to know if they can make money doing this business. There's so much talk about scams and pyramid schemes these days, many people are naturally skeptical. It's up to you to shoot straight with them. Leave out all the hype, and tell them exactly how you make money doing this business.

When explaining this, the simpler and more to the point you are, the better. People are bombarded by ads filled with nonsensical claims all day long. One sure way to turn a potential business partner off is to include hype in your presentation. Tell it like it is, good or bad, and you will profit.

Keep in mind, however, that although most people list money as one of their main reasons for starting a business, what they really mean is that they want what that money can give them. This can be time, freedom, or even a new house in a better part of town. Always look beyond the money when speaking with a prospect.

People want to know if they can rely on you for help. Most are afraid of going it alone, and want a kind of safety net in case they need it. We've all heard about, and maybe even experienced, uplines taking the money and running. This is a valid concern, and you need to address it.

Your prospect needs to know that you're in this for the long haul, that you're not going to sign them up and disappear. Not only that, but you need to point them in the right direction, so that they may discover resources independent of you.

To really be successful in Network Marketing, you simply must think like your prospect and place her wants and needs over your own. By doing this, she'll feel you understand her. People flock to those they feel understand.

Turbo Charge Your Business Now--Three Qualities You Can't Be Without

My friend Cindy just called and told me she was quitting Network Marketing. "It's just so hard," she says. "Nobody told me it was going to be like this." She sounded exhausted and beaten down. What's worse, this was the fifth MLM company she'd quit in four years.
To be fair, Cindy was right in one sense. Network Marketing can be hard work, especially if you've got kids, pets, a significant other, and a full-time job to consider.

Network Marketing is also deceptively simple, once you learn the basics. To be successful, however, there are three qualities you must possess or develop.

Discipline--You must commit to taking a certain amount of action every day. Discipline is difficult for most of us because we're used to relying on others for discipline. Parents, teachers, and bosses always filled that role in the past. Not so when you run your own business.

Even though we may have resented them, without those authority figures directing us, how much would we accomplish? I know from experience, and you probably do, too, that employees work harder when the boss is close by.

Not to sound too cliche, but now you ARE the boss, and the boss is always close by. If the boss is not disciplined, however, your business will suffer. If the boss doesn't see to it that things get done, who will?

In my Network Marketing experience, I've seen many people who were short on discipline. As a result, they never got past the dream stage. Most of these people today still work their jobs, believing it takes some kind of magic to be successful in Network Marketing.

The good news is that discipline can be learned. Granted, it's usually comes easier to those who were raised with a decent amount, but anyone can learn it. It requires focus and commitment, however. How bad do you want it? How important are your dreams? Only you can answer that.

I learned discipline in the US Army. Before my Army experience, I was a lazy slob. Unfortunately, my parents didn't instill the discipline I needed to succeed. I wasn't forced to clean my room, I didn't do any chores around the house, and they still gave me an allowance.

Even though I didn't really enjoy being a soldier, I learned that being a success took a certain degree of sacrifice. My thoughts, feelings, and emotions, took a back seat to doing what had to be done.

Many times, I didn't feel like getting up at 4AM and running six miles before breakfast. Another three hours in bed appealed to me much more. Drill Sergeants, however, took that option away. Minus the Drill Sergeants, I'm forced to limit my own options, which is still a battle from time to time.

Education--There's so much to know about Network Marketing. Your upline might be able to help some, but don't rely solely on them. There are literally tons of websites and books that can give you the information you need.

So, what kind of information am I talking about? Well, since most Network Marketers are current or former employees, we don't really know about running our own businesses. Our companies are little help when they make such claims as, "Anybody can do this business!" What a crock.

You need information on goal-setting. Without goals, you're just floating blindly. There are right and wrong ways to set goals, and you need to learn the difference. Goals are not dreams, and, even though both are essential for success, it's important not to confuse the two.

You need information about email marketing, phone prospecting, and setting up your website and blog. You need to know about PPC's, and how they can help generate leads. You need to learn how to stay motivated. Reading books by Kiosaki and Trump help me in this area.

Commitment--Without commitment, you'll find yourself procrastinating. I know, because I've been there. I thought I was committed, but I was focused on the dream, and not my goals. The dream soon fades with the prospect of having to make calls for two hours every evening.

I found myself making excuses. I'll just play 30 minutes of video games, and then I'll get to work. I'll study some more. I'm not feeling too well tonight. It's too late in the week to begin prospecting. I'll start Monday. I've said all these things to myself.

Commitment means taking your eyes off the big picture, and resolving to get the little things done. Little things, I might add that, if done diligently over a long enough period of time will bring your big picture to fruition.

My biggest piece of advice is this: Don't give up. EVER. Statistics have shown that of people who have been in Network Marketing 10 years or more, over 95% are wealthy today. Think about that the next time you want to quit.

Online Success with Affiliate Marketing Program

Online businesses has in the recent times become the stepping stone to success and one of the easiest way to make money with the exhibition of skills and aptitude. However, if are contemplating making it big in the Online marketing scene; you can definitely consider trying your hand at affiliate marketing program.

It is a program where you as an affiliate marketing professional or company can partner with the merchant of a product (with similar interest to your business) for the sales of the merchant's products or services.

As web services, affiliate marketing program is regarded as one of the best online marketing programs for small business, because of the minimum risk factor. A merchant pays the affiliate a referral fee in terms of the affiliate marketing program, only after a lead is registered or converted. Similarly, at the same time the affiliate has no risks involved as you are paid only on generation or conversion of a lead.

These are the basis to affiliate marketing program. However, to be successful, you definitely need the extra finesse to stand out amongst the rest in the business. Are you thinking the same way, lets find out:

It is very important in affiliate marketing program, as in any other business to find the niche market. It is difficult to sell the same product, which everyone else are selling; and stand out. Make due analysis of the "in demand" market, and cater to the niche instead of selling everything to everyone.

After you have defined your niche market, it is important that you choose your partner wisely, after due research for websites that are already enjoying traffic and would benefit from your affiliate offer.

It is significant to be creative in affiliate marketing program. Consider providing creative promotional materials to your affiliate partners, to make their work easier. Your marketing strategy of attracting their interest by offering them maximum conversions in lieu of their minimum effort will definitely increase the chances of them promoting your products or services.

It is always wise to keep a backup of new affiliate partners because you never know when anyone would discontinue. The best way to protect you is to recruit new partners by listing in affiliate directories, promoting your affiliate program on your web site or by directly contacting potential affiliates.

Now all you need to do is findind affiliate partners, and you will be in business. Another interesting angle of affiliate marketing is residual income marketing. Here the affiliate from whose link a visitor first diverts to the merchants site and makes a purchase, becomes eligible to be paid on any subsequent purchases by the same visitor.

Another interesting angle of affiliate marketing is residual income marketing. I will talk about this in a future article.

Equestrian Connection: Top Ten Tips On Networking For Profit On The Internet

Why would equestrians want to network on the internet?

Horse people are as a rule social animals and naturally do a fair amount of networking on a daily basis without even trying. On the internet this natural talent can be very useful, especially for those hose riders and horse owners who intend to earn some spare cash on the net.

The simple act of setting up a horse blog in cyberspace, even if it is on a fascinating subject like equestrian holidays, will not guarantee you visitors who click on your adsense ads or buy your e-book. When you have told all your horse fiends and acquaintances as well as your grandmother about your blog or e-book, time has come to take it to the masses of eager readers on the net. Although they are very keen to get hold of the equestrian information you want to share, they can not do so if they do not know where to find it.

So how do equetrians network on the internet?

Much the same as you would in real life. You talk to other horse people about your passion and exchange horse stories. Meeting people from all over the world is a truly enriching experience. Here are a few quick and easy ways to go about it:

1. Join a forum. There are literally hundreds of forums on the net. Choose one on a subject that interests you specifically. Two favorites of mine are the Yahoo groups Ride with Confidence and the Friesian Horses Group. Just be very careful never to advertise your services or products directly on the forum. You will get banned. Forums are about making contacts, not selling your wares.

2. Join a society or a club. If you are interested in classical riding, join a classical riding club. Or an eventing or show jumping or horse breeding club. Be an active member and contribute regularly.

3. Subscribe to and comment on other people's horse blogs. You can subscribe by RSS- just click on the little orange sign- or by e-mail. When you comment, leave your blog address.

4. Join MySpace, an enormous social networking site, and invite MySpace horse people to become your friends. You can also join horse groups at MySpace, and you are free to advertise whatever you like on your home page.

5. If you are looking for romance, join a reputable equestrian singles site. Make sure your private information is safe. Never give out any personal details, especially not your e-mail address. All communication happens via the site. Even if you are not looking for romance, these sites can be a great place to meet new people, and you can specify on your profile if you are looking for a relationship or just want to make horsey friends.

6. Subscribe to quality equestrian newsletters like the Equestrian Information Newsletter; or even better, start writing one of your own.

7. Subscribe to equestrian magazines, or e-zines, like the Equestrian Online Weekly about how horse people can earn money on the net. Choose an e-zine that will provide you with valuable, practical information in every issue.

8. Attend equestrian webminars. These are a bit like real-life seminars, except the whole thing happens in cyberspace. It can be via a telephone connection, or via webcam, with means you can also see the other participants. Tremendous fun, and very informative.

9. Use social bookmarking sites like Delicious, Digg and specifically for blogs, Technorati. These humongous sites exist purely to help you find the information you are looking for according to what other web surfers thought of the quality of the information they have already discovered. When you find a useful website, you can bookmark and rate it depending on how practical and realistic the information was on the site. Other people can then look at your assessment and decide whether it will be worthwhile to visit that site.

10. Write your own blog. Probably the easiest and most profitable way of networking on the internet and definitely the most amusing. Go to Technorati and do a search on horse blogs to see what is already out there. You ill be amazed and impressed and soon you'll also be addicted. Don't forget to bookmark your own blog with the social bookmark sites!

What Is MLM Business - The Basics That You Must Know

MLM stands for Multi Level Marketing, also known as network marketing. Multi Level Marketing can be considered as an effective and efficient way to deliver products and services from the manufacturers to the consumers

In a non-MLM company, before a product can reach a consumer, it has to go through several channels. These channels include advertising, retailing, employment etc. Each channel adds on to the cost of the product.

MLM is designed in such a way that all these channels are bypassed. Instead, the products are being delivered directly from the distributors to the consumers, reducing the cost of product to the consumers.

As a result, both the distributors and consumers benefit. Consumers receive products at a lower price. Companies can afford to pay their distributors a higher rate of commission.

In other words, you are paid a commission every time you sell a product. You can literally start your own business without creating your own product. You can also grow your business by recruiting new distributors into your organization.

MLM vs Pyramid Scheme

It is easy to confuse MLM with pyramid scheme due to the similarities of their structure - both look like a pyramid. But it is important to know that MLM is not a pyramid scheme!

Let's compare the two:

(1)Pyramid : The people at the top get paid. There is no way a person can earn more than his upline.
MLM : It is possible for you to earn more than your upline if you work harder and smarter than him. It is also possible for your downline to earn more than you.

(2)Pyramid : There are no legitimate products or services to sell. The only way to get paid is to recruit more people into your organization.
MLM : There are legitimate products or services to be sold. You can earn a good amount of money even if you don't recruit any distributors, provided you have a group of loyal customers.

As a guideline, before you even decide whether to join a company, ask yourself these questions:

"Are there any products or services that I can sell?"

"Will I use these products or services myself?"

"Can I still make money if I don't recruit any distributors?"

If your answer is "no" to any one of these questions, then I recommend that you run away as fast as possible.

Maybe I Should Be At The Top?

You may be thinking, "Why don't I just join a new company directly? Then I'll be at the top and stay at the top!"

Well, I don't recommend that. Even if you are at the very top, you will still need to build a strong foundation in order to earn the income you desire. You need to acquire a large group of loyal customers as well as a group of capable and dedicated distributors in your team.

You should not worry too much about joining a company late. If the MLM company is selling a legitimate product that people truly want, then you should be able to make a decent amount of money.

Of course, I do not deny that there will be a small advantage in being the pioneers of a company. However, a truly strong company will be able to stand the test of time. If not, it will eventually close down and this is the last thing that you ever want. Work hard and smart and you will definitely have a bright future in any legitimate MLM company you choose to join.

Motivating Your MLM Downline

You've started your MLM Business; you've sponsored enough people to get to your first promotion; and no one is doing anything. Does this sound familiar?

How do you motivate your MLM Downline?

I am often asked the "Motivation" question. It's a tough one because there are no easy answers. Motivation is an internal process.

Here are my answers to these questions.

First, I don't personally believe that it is possible to MOTIVATE another person. You can INSPIRE them through your actions and efforts, but motivation comes from within. It's something each person must get on his/her own.

Think about your own motivation. What can your sponsor, upline or anyone in MLM really do to motivate you to take action in your business?

Your won reason "why" for doing the business must be hugely compelling to you. It must be a non-negotiable thing that you will not be denied. It must be something that is on your mind daily so you are compelled to take action and achieve your MLM goals.

What ways have you been inspired in your MLM business? Who has inspired you and what was it about that person that was inspiring?

Ways to inspire include always being in action yourself. Do you have a company top sponsor list? Be on it so they see and know that you believe and are taking action.

Have a company newsletter? Be in it -share ideas and articles to educate.

Recognize achievements of your downline, both big and small. After all, the size of the accomplishment varies person to person and small steps grow to giant leaps.

Have tools and trainings to educate and interact with the team.

Be accessible - return emails and phone calls and be more than a robot. Take time to ask how things are going and make note of birthdays, etc.

Do you have incentive programs for your team?

Contests are very motivating for some and others couldn't care less. You'll want to play around with this concept and see if it is a fit for your program.

This is an area I have not been great at getting into action. I've done contests, incentive programs, etc, but have not seen it really produce more team growth. Those who are going to do it, DO IT for their own incentives, not mine!

Do you hold weekly, monthly or no team meetings? How about conference calls?

I hold a weekly team conference call since my team is all over the country, and have had holiday gatherings and occasional local meetings for those nearby. These have been very successful and I now realize the importance of team bonding and relationships! These types of gatherings are what spur people into attending bigger regional and national events.
I also hold a team meeting at our national company convention each year. This is REALLY fun! I do training, awards and recognition. Because I build my business all online, as do much of my team, it gives everyone a chance to put faces and names together and create lasting friendships beyond the business partnership.

If you do hold team meetings why do you think they are important and what do you cover at your team meetings? Think about these things and poll your team on what matters most to them.

Again, the bonding and friendships created can really sustain people and inspire them to move forward. We cover all different topics related to business. Get the team involved in assisting and coaching on topics they know!

Avoid taking on the responsibility of being the lead motivator to anyone but yourself. Coach others on exploring their own reasons, motivations and short comings and put each one in charge of his/her own personal growth and accountability.

Try this and I believe you will see a shift in the mindset of those who are going to make things happen!

Sponsoring Downline: Ride the Internet Highway to MLM Success

Are you marketing your MLM business the old tried...and tired way, through off-line methods? If so, are you finding you have less time, energy and money for other things in your life? Welcome to the old-fashioned way of moving your MLM forward.

In today's competitive business environment you want sustained growth, which generates growing income. How do you achieve this?

You achieve this through new wave Internet-based MLM marketing. Using this technique for recruiting downline pays great dividends. Hundreds of people could end up working under you. Why are internet marketing techniques better than traditional marketing techniques? Here are a few reasons:

* Your customers target themselves to you. They search online for products or services and click on ads that interest them. Make sure your advertising's on the Internet for them to click on.

* There is no haphazard personal cold calling where you hone in on anyone and everyone. You're not pressuring anyone to buy from your MLM. Family, friends and others do not run when they see you coming with your canned sales pitch and products at the ready.

* It's less expensive to sponsor downline this way. There's no need to run seminars and rent meeting space. There's no need for brochures, business cards, newspaper or magazine ads. You convey information to prospects through your website.

* Your leads are targeted leads - people who have an interest in what you have to offer. Your leads are not untargeted and unresponsive people who you happened upon with your haphazard, untargeted approach.

* When recruiting downline you do not waste time educating, training and motivating with face-to-face meetings. You recruit online with targeted recruiting, instead of waiting in a hall for whomever to show up. It's very time consuming to recruit one individual at a time to add to your downline.

* Invest your time in multiple MLM's; not just one. Working off-line, you only have time to recruit prospects to one MLM business. The time commitment needed for personal recruiting offers no time to work multiple businesses.

Internet MLM marketing relies on this equation: Better Targeting + Automatic (Lead Generation + Follow-Up) = Leverage

Here are three steps to recruiting downline using internet-marketing techniques:

1) Set up a lead capture/squeeze page: This is where you want internet searchers to end up. This is your webpage about your business and it offers information for a prospect to take action. This lead capture/squeeze page is where you want the person to sign-up to receive more information from you. Here, you offer the prospect the opportunity to join your mailing list by giving their e-mail address and name. If they opt-in, further develop your relationship with them through e-mails to them. When they opt in by joining your list, you have a new sales lead.

2) Drive traffic to your squeeze page: Run ads relevant to what people perform searches on. If you want to attract people who perform searches on words such as "MLM opportunities" and the like, use pay-per-click advertising. You can have an ad that shows up alongside the search results for those words. When someone clicks on your ad, he or she transfers to your web page.

3) Follow-Up with an Auto-responder: The auto-responder catches leads from your site (from the opt-in where prospects give their e-mail addresses). The auto-responder follows-up with an automatically generated e-mail. A series of these auto-responder e-mails will perform your sales pitch for you. You can have them respond at regularly scheduled intervals. You will present a lot of information to a prospect this way. Recruit downline quicker with an automatic responder that works at night while you sleep.

It pays to use internet marketing techniques to sponsor a downline effectively. Don't do things the hard way. Internet marketing techniques for your MLM business is the no-hassle way to generate income. It's the best tool for recruiting downline, where others will help grow income for you and themselves.
